Gov. DeSantis announced the “Unite Florida Portal” on November 21st for state sheltering and housing assistance. People must be registered with FEMA for individual assistance at
https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ (the deadline has been extended to Jan. 12). This portal is a new way to connect residents with additional resources. The portal is at
https://ianrecovery.fl.gov/.
The state has launched a
Hurricane Ian Debris Removal Program to help with property cleanup, be it a vessel or mobile home, or commercial or private property. The state has added resources to this landing page, including a fact sheet that clarifies how residents can use this site to connect with resources. View the new

Michael Hernandez is a state PIO and Brian Kenworthy is a program project manager. They are working on a State of Florida debris removal project to help residents and businesses that need assistance in removing storm debris from their private properties.
