In response to the extensive and widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, the Lee Board of County Commissioners has unanimously voted to establish the Recovery Task Force in accordance with the FEMA National Disaster Recovery Framework.
The first objective of the Recovery Task Force is to conduct a comprehensive survey of the immediate, short-term, and long-term needs of Lee County in the aftermath of the disaster.
The second objective is to identify and engage key partners from various sectors, including government, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations, to collectively address the needs of the community and work towards recovery.
The third objective is to develop viable, feasible, desirable, and actionable solutions to meet the identified needs of the community, taking into consideration the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Lee County.
The fourth objective is to maximize funding resources available, including grants and loans, and recommend necessary policies to implement the identified solutions effectively and efficiently.

VISION FOR RESILIENCY - RECOVERY TASK FORCE
The purpose of convening this regional Task Force is to collaborate as a community, combining efforts to recover and rebuild in a resilient manner. Initially, the Recovery Task Force will review and endorse priorities for consideration by the State Legislature and provide a unified voice for the interests of Lee County and its residents, businesses, and nonprofits.
