The Emergency Management Act, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, provides each local government of the State the authority to develop and enter into mutual aid agreements within the state for reciprocal emergency aid in case of emergencies too extensive to be dealt with unassisted, and through such agreements ensure the timely reimbursement of costs incurred by the local governments which render such assistance.

The Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement between the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management and participating municipalities authorizes the request, provision, and receipt of interjurisdictional mutual aid in accordance with the Emergency Management Act, Chapter 252, in the event of a disaster or emergency.

This agreement replaces all previous versions of the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement and contains consistent terms and conditions. There are no substantive changes to the City’s liability, reimbursement, or other terms for participation in the agreement.
